Pub and staff charged in collision that killed Kitchener man
KITCHENER — A Kitchener pub and three staff members are facing a total of 16 charges under the Liquor Licence Act after a fatal January crash.

On Jan. 11 just after 4 p.m., police were called to Alpine Centre plaza at Ottawa Street South and Alpine Road where a GMC Yukon SUV had crashed into an LCBO store and rolled over.
The lone occupant, a 40-year-old Kitchener man, died at the scene. Police said the driver had left a licenced establishment before the crash and that alcohol and marijuana were contributing factors in the collision.
On Friday, police said GEOPAP Restaurants Inc., operating as Chicago Pub and Billiards, as well as the pub's two owners and a staff member, are facing a total of 16 charges under the Liquor Licence Act.
There is a Chicago Pub and Billiards location in the Alpine Centre.
