OBIT: WWII Polish Veteran MITUKIEWICZ, John
(Oct 10, 2007) -- MITUKIEWICZ, John - Born in 1919, was a Polish Veteran of the Second World War and a longstanding member of the Royal Canadian Legion Polish Veterans Branch No. 412 in Kitchener. Peacefully passed away at the Guelph General Hospital, surrounded by his family on Friday, October 5, 2007. Beloved husband of Janina Mitukiewicz of Kitchener. Loving father of Lucia Mitukiewicz and her husband Richard Kocyla, Kris Edmonds and her husband Christopher, all of Guelph and Ed Mitukiewicz and his wife Anita Diebel of Elora. Dear Dziadzu of Thomas and Victoria Kortney, Hilary, Madeleine and Amelia Edmonds and Katy and Samuel Mitukiewicz. Survived by his brother Bruno Mitukiewicz of Poland. John was a very devoted member of Sacred Heart RC Church in Kitchener for 55 years. The Mitukiewicz family will receive their friends at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton Street, (at Church Street) Kitchener on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart RC Church, 66 Shanley Street, Kitchener on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 10 a.m.. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. As expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions to Sacred Heart RC Church would be appreciated.
